SKILLET BUTTER BISCUIT
Growing up in Corbin, Kentucky we had cornbread or biscuits every day. We loved when mom or granny fixed Butter Biscuits, they were buttery, layered, and tall. Preparing this homemade biscuit recipe will bring back beautiful memories of days gone by! Southern Classic Biscuit are stunning when served in a cast iron skillet. INGREDIENTS TO MAKE HOMEMADE BISCUITS
- White Lily Self Rising Flour
- Sugar
- Butter
- Milk
HOW TO MAKE SKILLET BUTTER BISCUIT
Grease 10” skillet and set aside.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Place flour in a large bowl.
Add sugar and whisk until blended.
Using a box grader, grate butter into the flour.
Mix until incorporated.
Create a depression in middle and add cold milk.
Gently stir to combine.
When the mixture starts to come together, use hand to combine and turn out on a floured surface.
Work with hands to press down to about ½ inch thickness and then fold and repeat.
The number of times you do this process will determine how flaky the biscuit will be.
Press down one final time to about ¾ inch thickness and, using a glass or biscuit cutter, cut out biscuit and place in prepared skillet.
Gather up scraps and re-form to cut final biscuits.
Bake for about 10 minutes.
Pull out and brush tops with melted butter.
Bake another 5 minutes until browned on top.
Brush tops with melted butter again.

- 4 tbsp melted Butter

My Grandma and Mom always used buttermilk instead of regular milk....in biscuits, dumplings, cobbler or any biscuit.'...also they used Crisco and not butter but I thought I would try it your way!
