FRIED SWEET HUSH PUPPIES RECIPE
Being from the south, we often ate hush puppies that were dusted with powdered sugar. They worked excellent with any meal. One of our favorites was when this sweet treat was teamed up with Fried Fish. Nowadays, our kids are crazy about these sugar-covered hush puppies and also our Traditional Southern Hush Puppies. They look incredible, fried to that perfect golden shade, and sprinkled in sugar.
We have always loved anything fried, we also loved anything covered in powder sugar… so these were a no brainer, an obvious winner! Once you’ve discovered our fried Sweet HushPuppies, you’ll be teaming them up with many of your dinners. They truly look wonderful, the flavor is off the chart… that perfect crunchy golden surface dusted with white powdered sugar combined with the light tender interior.

INGREDIENTS FOR SWEET HUSHPUPPY RECIPE
White Cornmeal Mix – Hot Rise
Sugar
Cream Style Corn
Egg
Milk
Powdered Sugar
DIRECTIONS FOR FRIED SWEET TREATS
Preheat oil to 400 degrees.
Place 1 ⅓ cup of White Cornmeal Mix into a mixing bowl.
Add 3 tablespoons of sugar.
Add ½ of a cup of Canned Cream Style Corn.
Pour in ⅓ cup of milk.
Add one egg.
Mix and fold-in all the ingredients until everything is wet with no dry portions.
Drop a spoon full of batter mix for each of the hush puppies.
Deep fry until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side).
When completed, sprinkle the hush puppies with Powdered Sugar.

Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Milk
- 1 Egg beaten
- 1 ⅓ cup Cornmeal Mix self rising
- 3-4 tbsp Sugar
- ½ cup Cream style Corn
- Lard for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Heat lard to 375.
- Whisk together cornmeal mix and sugar.
- Add milk, corn and egg.
- Stir until just mixed.
- Drop ½ tablespoon sized into oil and turn after brown on bottom.
- Drain on paper towel lined plate and dust with powderded sugar.
