Skillet Monkey Bread is a scrumptious homemade sweet and sticky dessert baked in a cast iron skillet. This is without question, the BEST Monkey Bread we have ever tasted.
The proof this is the best Monkey Bread was an empty pan within 5 minutes of our video ending! We’re not kidding, we were forced to make another batch the next morning to go along with a huge country breakfast.
SKILLET MONKEY BREAD
Growing up in Kentucky we regularly had sweet gooey desserts. Monkey Bread, as it’s known today, is just one of those sweet treats that you wanted anytime you could get it! Sorry folks forget about that old Bundt Pan thing… this is a special treat that demands an old fashion cast iron skillet to get it done right! When cooked the country-way, this is a sweet, sticky, ooey gooey treat. When making this recipe we had no idea this was a dish we grew up on. We had heard the name Monkey Bread and even tasted it, but it was nothing like the product our recipe generates. Mom and Granny always called it Sticky Pinch-me Bread. So, when you called it by name, they always pinched you, because you said, “pinch me”. It brings back great memories of them forcing us to say the words, so they could give us a little pinch.
Monkey Bread cooked in cast iron is the only legitimate way to honor this southern comfort dish. The magic that occurs in that skillet is utterly AMAZING. Once you have followed our directions in this recipe, you’ll see Monkey Bread or Sticky Pinch-me Bread’s full-blown potential. It’s not just gorgeous, it’s truly scrumptious.
This is a magnificently handcrafted dessert, ideal for serving during the holidays. Your friends and family will appreciate our Skillet Monkey Bread served in cast iron. It’s another quick and enticing choice!

New favorite recipe for Monkey Bread.. so much better than the old Bundt pan recipe. Made to full recipe at Christmas and then 1/2 a recipe in a smaller 6” skillet today. Bought a mini package of 5 biscuits for the 6” pan.

I found I had to bake it for an hour but it was very good after the additional time. I would make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

I just made this, followed the recipe exactly- it comes out sooooo delicious! The top gets this beautiful crispy, flaky texture and the bottom soaks up the butter and brown sugar for a juicy, mouth-watering bite. Can't recommend this enough! It'll be breakfast for the next few days!
