Senior Skillet Breakfast Sandwich is better than the TikTok version! Watch our video to learn how to make it. This One Skillet Breakfast hack will have you in awe!
One-Skillet Breakfast Sandwiches started as a challenge from one of our kids. They showed us a 60-second TikTok video where a person makes a breakfast sandwich all in one single pan without removing anything. We quickly discovered the sandwich it produced was quite unpleasant, with soggy bread that was similar to a not fully cooked piece of French Toast. We were confident we could produce a true restaurant-quality version. We choose to call ours, Senior Skillet Breakfast Sandwich, and here is our blueprint!
SENIOR SKILLET BREAKFAST SANDWICH
Being from Corbin, KY, we tend to take everything on as a challenge. So our kids, knowing that we have this trait, thought they’d have a big laugh seeing us chase our tails on this effort. It might have started out like that, but they soon discovered our “hillbilly genius” can produce incredible things (yeah we know, we ain’t dumb, we could have used the cheap pun "Incr- edible"… but that’s way too obvious).
We knew our Egg Sandwich had to blow away the competition! So, being country-fellers we decided to set-a-spell and do some ciphering, that’s when we arrived at the sandwich solution.
Since Kentucky folks were preparing this sandwich… we needed the “Country Classics” not just bacon and sausage, we wanted Fried Bologna and Spam! We introduced a whole new way to cut Span to fit on a sandwich (watch the video).
We choose to create a Southern Restaurant Quality Breakfast Sandwich, not some crappy TikTok fake food deal. We pray that the world is prepared for the “king of all breakfast sandwiches”; all hail the incredible… Senior Skillet Breakfast Sandwich!
Every knee shall bow, and every tough shall confess that the Senior Skillet Breakfast Sandwich is the Almighty of Breakfast Sandwiches!
INGREDIENTS FOR OUR ONE SKILLET BREAKFAST SANDWICH
- Butter
- Bread
- Eggs
- Cheese
- Cooked Breakfast Meat (Bacon, Sausage, Bologna, Spam, etc.)
HOW TO MAKE OUR BREAKFAST SANDWICH
Start by preheating a 10” cast iron skillet to 375 degrees, place one tablespoon of butter in the skillet and allow it to melt.
Next, whisk 3 eggs in a bowl like an omelet and pour into the skillet evenly, allow the eggs to cook for a minute.
Place 2 slices of cheese along the diameter of the skillet (where our bread will be placed) and allow to melt.
Place in two slices of lightly toasted bread with the crust towards the outer ring of the skillet, butter the face-up side of the bread.
Allow the eggs to firm up and then with a spatula flip the entire egg-bread combination over.
At this point, the egg omelet side is face up and ready to add your meat selection over the bread and egg.
Use the spatula to fold in the extra egg portion without bread under it, now flip the one slice of bread over on top of the other.
Like magic, you see a perfect complete breakfast sandwich.
We chose to peek under the sandwich to look for the perfect grilled cheese appearance.
Flip the sandwich for the desired color!
