Ingredients for the Best Beef Cube Steaks with Gravy
- Beef cube steaks
- Flour
- Milk
- Butter
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Cayenne Pepper
- Salt
- Pepper
How to Make EASY Cube Steak
First, add flour and spices to a shallow dish and whisk to combine. This will be the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder spice mixture. Tip: use a paper plate for easy cleanup.
Next. add the butter to a skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Then, coat both sides of each of your cube steaks with the flour mixture and add to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium setting.
Now, cook the country steaks on each side for about 3 minutes. Look for browning and crispiness.
After flipping the cube steaks and cooking thoroughly, remove them from the pan. Set them aside. You will want to have the steaks reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
Now, we will use the delicious pan drippings to make a country white gravy. Add 3 tbs of flour and whisk with the pan drippings to create a roux. You will want to let this cook for a few minutes while whisking.
Next, gradually add the milk and whisk.
Cook until gravy thickens. Then serve over the prepared cubed steaks.

Instructions

- Heat butter in skillet over medium high.
- Put cube steaks in flour mixture and turn to coat.
- Put steaks in skillet and reduce heat to medium.
- Cook about 3 minutes per side until browned.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of the flour mixture to the drippings and mix and cook for several minutes.
- Gradually add milk while whisking to make a gravy to cover cube steaks.
