The BEST Filet Mignon begins with a choice cut of meat that is seared in a cast iron skillet and basted in butter. To elevate the steak's natural flavor, we choose to use the very basics.
- 4 Filet Mignon Steaks
- Sea/Kosher Salt to taste
- 4 tbsp Butter
- Ground Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp minced Garlic
- 1 small Onion sliced
- 1 sprig fresh Rosemary
- 1 sprig fresh Thyme
Allow steak to come to room temperature on the counter.
Salt and pepper all sides of each steak.
Heat skillet over high heat.
Preheat oven to 400.
Add butter and sear steaks on all sides.
Reduce heat and add garlic.
Separate onion into rings and add to skillet.
Add rosemary and thyme.
Stir to blend flavors and spoon over steaks.
Place in oven until internal temperature reaches 130.
