Preheat oven to 350.
Remove 1 tablespoon of butter and return to refrigerator.
Place remainder of butter in skillet and place in oven until melted.
Add brown sugar to skillet and return to oven for 5 minute until bubbly.
Combine 1 cup of sugar with cinnamon and mix to combine. Set aside.
Place one pie crust in skillet over bubbling brown sugar.
Top with half of the apples.
Sprinkle apples with half of cinnamon sugar mixture.
Top with another pie crust.
Top with remainder of Apples.
Sprinkle with remainder of cinnamon sugar.
Top with third pie crust.
Cut four slits to allow steam to vent.
Dust with sanding sugar.
Cut remaining tablespoon of butter into pieces and distribute over top of pie.
Bake for 1 hour, until crust is browned.
Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting.
