Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

Patties:

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Egg
  • cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Pepper

Gravy:

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 cup Beef Stock
  • 2 tbsp sliced Mushrooms

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine all patty ingredients and mix with hands until incorporated.
  • Form into 4 patties.
  • Cook in a skillet over medium heat about 3 minutes per side until browned.
  • Remove patties to a plate and set aside.
  • Add butter to skillet and allow to melt.
  • Add flour and whisk to form a roux.
  • Cook roux for several minutes.
  • Add worcestershire, onion powder and garlic powder while continuing to whisk.
  • Gradually whisk in beef stock to blend in roux to liquid.
  • Raise temperature to medium high and bring to a boil.
  • Add mushrooms and return patties to skillet.
  • Simmer 5 minutes over medium heat until gravy has thickened.
