Skillet Cherry Crisp is a Stunning Southern dish made in a cast iron skillet. This homespun cherry dessert is a Holiday and Fall selection adored by everyone. Cherry Crisp is a pure joy to serve in its black cast iron skillet with that glorious browned crisp topping and the bright red cherry filling around the edges.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 cup Oatmeal
  • ½ cup Flour
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Butter chilled and cubed
  • 2 can Cherry Pie Filling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Place butter in 10" skillet and place in oven until melted. Remove from oven and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon.
  • Using a pastry cutter, cut in the chilled butter until mixture is crumbly.
  • Pour cherries into skillet.
  • Sprinkle topping onto skillet over cherries.
  • Bake about 30 minutes until golden brown.
