Fried Apple Pies

Fried Apple Pies are delicious when cooked in lard in a cast iron skillet. Our Southern Fried Apple Pies Recipe, was absolutely scrumptious to taste but it FAILED in appearance and ease to cook.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lard
  • 1 cup Leftover Fried Apples see recipe
  • 1 Refrigerated Pie Crust
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Heat lard in dutch oven to 375.
  • Cut pie crust into quarters.
  • Place about 2 tablespoons of apples to 1 side or each pie crust piece.
  • Dip your finger in water and run around edge or the piece and fold over to seal.
  • Use a fork to crimp edges.
  • Cook for about 8 minutes.
  • Turn and cook other side for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir together sugar and cinnamon to combine.
  • Sprinkle pies with cinnamon sugar to taste.
