Grease 10" skillet and set aside.
Preheat oven to 425.
Place flour in a large bowl.
Add sugar and whisk until blended.
Using a box grater, grate butter into flour.
Mix until incorporated.
Create depression in middle and add cold milk.
Gently stir to combine.
When mixture starts to come together, use hand to combine and turn out on floured surface.
Work with hands to press down to about ½" thickness and then fold and repeat.
The number of time you do this process will determin how flaky biscuits will be.
Press down one final time to about ¾" thickness and, using glass or biscuit cutter, cut out biscuit and place in prepared skillet.
Gather up scraps and re-form to cut final biscuits.
Bake for about 10 minutes.
Pull out and brush tops with melted butter.
Bake another 5 minutes until browned on top.
Brush tops with melted butter again.
